Our Most Difficult Client.

We just launched a new website for our most difficult client - ourselves! One of the hardest things for any designer to do is design for themselves. We are our own worst critics, and we always put our clients’ needs first. Our goal was to design a new website for Moor Studio that is visually engaging, showcases our work, outlines our services, and inspires potential clients to get in touch.


As we approached this project we thought about all the things we tell our clients about web design, and decided to follow our own advice:

Say it straight.

Before any design work happens, you need to have a clear vision of who you are and who you want to engage. Speak directly to your target audience in a voice that feels authentic, and support your message with dynamic visuals. Your ideal clients will know right away that they are in the right place.

Maria Mitchell Association is all about inspiring a passion for science and "learning by doing". To illustrate their mission, we included a dynamic slideshow and video reel on their home page.

Keep it simple.

People have come to your website looking for something. Maybe they need a specific service or product, or maybe they want to learn more about your organization and how to get involved. Make your website easy to navigate so that people can readily find what they're looking for.

Marine Home Center offers a huge array of products and services. We made their website easy to use with a simple navigation menu and clearly organized page structure.

Show and tell.

Here comes the hardest part…you’ve got to tell people how awesome you are. It's not easy to write about yourself, so simply tell us who you are and what you offer, and don't underestimate the value of professional copywriting and headshots. Testimonials are a powerful tool to back up your claims with real world examples.

Sometimes showing the people behind the company helps make personal connections and builds trust. For Cross Rip Builders we designed an About page that tells the story of the team's unique partnership.
